What personal data do we collect and how is it collected?

When users register for a VIVO Biobank account we collect name, email address and institution.  This date is provided by the individual registrant through completion of our registration form.

Who collects this data?

Data is collected by the University of York, UK.

Why is this data being collected and how will it be used?

We use your details to verify your identity and suitability for access to the Researchers section of the VIVO Biobank site.  We will use your contact details to keep in touch with you should you make an application to VIVO Biobank.

Will we share your personal data?

We will never share your personal information with anyone outside VIVO Biobank. All personal data are stored securely and can only accessed by a restricted number of people involved in VIVO Biobank.

Is it possible to opt out?

You can close your VIVO Biobank account at any time and we will destroy all personal information we hold about you.  You are able to create a new account after this, if required.  To close your account, contact us.
